右四十二章一者，萬物之母。人之所惡謂一無偶，孤寡不轂也。王公大人不忘其本，以是自稱，卑下謙損也。謙損者，必受益，強大者，必招禍。圣人設此，戒人克己行謙，見不善而內自省也。

頌曰：好勝常逢敵，行謙久處安。柔和為日用，處處玉京山。
